Our Unique “Eco-Friendly” Bottles
The secret of our success is our bottles. We searched and researched until we found the best solutions to what we regard as “the most environmentally friendly” single use PET bottles for water available – anywhere. This is based on the fact that there are many reasons and factors as to why people drink bottled water and one solution may not be the best for all. As always we do not promote bottled water as a substitute for our tap water, but more of a substitute for when drinkable tap water is NOT available.
Two Solutions
Our first “Eco-Friendly” bottle is made from 100% recycled plastic (rPET) which makes it the ideal bottle for areas with recycling programs available. 100% rPET is a giant leap for PET water bottles, since most bottlers are struggling with 10% to 25% rPET. Even giant Nestle is only up to 25% rPET. A 100% recycled bottle is yet more significant because unlike other plastics that are recycled only once into products that will be thrown away, our bottle is a product that can be recycled indefinitely. The second bottle is made from PET plastic which is 100% biodegradable made possible by a groundbreaking new additive. While these bottles can also be recycled, the fact that they are “biodegradable” promotes a product that can be thrown away resulting in increased use of plastics. But on the upside, it is an excellent bottle for using in areas where the likelihood of recycling is zero. These include most humanitarian aid locations and locations not in a known recycling area. In such cases, throwing the bottle away will not harm the environment as it will completely biodegrade in a couple of years, depending on conditions. Read more here.
Which to choose
Because most of our bottled water is consumed within areas with accessible recycling programs, we mostly recommend our 100% rPET bottle, but if the chances of getting recycled are slim to none, then definitely a 100% biodegradable bottle is in order.
